Summary:
Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties as necessary to provide customer service, safety, security of College facilities Responsible for fostering relationships with staff and administrators while ensuring compliance and adherence to all applicable rules, regulations, policies, procedures, mandates, recommendations, codes, and laws.
Job Focus ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and guidance relating to, emergency responses, and events where there are limited staff and administration resources available.
Ensures that all College property including facilities, equipment, systems and grounds are kept safe and secure for students, staff, and public/visitors and complete necessary documentation.
Conducts daily shift briefings with Facility and Security Department personnel.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws pertaining to campus risk management, safety, and security and emergency operations.
Monitors the College; conducts routine assessment of programs and campus; ensures proper building closing functions; responds to alarms and code calls, and provides first aid as necessary.
Interacts with people in a respectful manner that shows sensitivity, tact, neutrality, and professionalistm.
Works closely with local law enforcement, fire, and EMS as it pertains to campus safety and security.
Speaks clearly, concisely, and effectively listens to and understands information necessary to investigate incidents, document findings, and enforce policies and procedures.
Builds positive relationships, communicates effectively, and works in harmony with all stakeholders; addresses and resolves complaints and problems; has a clear understanding of and follows written and verbal directions.
Understands principles of program management, emergency management, communications, planning, and response.
Identifies and implements appropriate safety intervention techniques.
Makes decisions and solves problems by using logic, critical thinking, identifying key facts, exploring alternatives and proposing a quality solution.
Completes daily reports to be shared with the Security & Risk Management Coordinator and administrators as appropriate.
Unlocks and/or locks classroom doors as needed and requested.
Assists in retrieval of lost or forgotten items in classrooms after-hours.
Performs daily and monthly safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, AED's, eyewash stations, fire panel, etc).
May assist coordinator in processing requests for building access and removal of access with electronic badges and keys; Performs duties in a safe and healthful manner.
Must maintain confidentiality of all work related information.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of college education from accredited institution of higher education or technical college.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing related duties.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may fulfill this equirement.
Must be available to work afternoon/evening shifts and weekend hours as needed.
Must frequently work with little direct supervision; must have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with department/program administrators and staff.
Requires demonstrated ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic and social-economic backgrounds.
Must possess strong professional demeanor with considerable interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, diplomacy and cooperative problem solving skills, for work with students, citizens, local, state and federal officials, and other employees.
Special Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses:
Required to possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of Utah and have an acceptable driving record.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check and have a clean background with no criminal convictions (felony or misdemeanor).
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Emergency Medical Responder training, First Aid, CPR, AED certified, and Utah Security Officer License preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and walk for long time periods.
May be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
