Information Technology Programming Instructor

Supports the College Mission and serves students, employers, and the College community by providing quality Information Technology job skills training in a safe, clean environment. Maintains a positive and productive learning environment by working collaboratively with students, staff, faculty and College partners. 1. Provides instruction, monitors progress and advises students.
2. Promotes job readiness and assists students in finding employment.
3. Develops, implements, and incorporates Advisory Committee input on curriculum.
4. Cooperatively develops and monitors a budget.
5. Helps formulate and support the Advisory Committee.
6. Fosters a productive learning and training environment.
7. Encourages and exemplifies professionalism and good work habits.
8. Maintains and implements a classroom management plan consistent with College policy.
9. Interacts with students in an atmosphere of open communication.

12. Coordinates with the Public Relations/Marketing Department.

17. Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Must hold a minimum of Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field; Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
Professional or technical certifications strongly recommended.
Candidates must have at least four years of proven industry experience working in software development and/or mobile application development.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of object-oriented programming is required.
Experience developing with one or more of the following languages is required: Java, Objective-C, C++, and/or C#.
Working knowledge of computer networks, computer hardware, Linux, SQL/MySQL, PHP, and JavaScript is desirable.

Candidates must have critical thinking skills and excellent problem solving abilities.
Successful candidates will possess positive communication skills and demonstrate the ability to foster a productive learning environment.
Prior teaching experience is preferred. The position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, and may require working evening and weekend hours.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
