Nusring Secretary - PT

Performs a variety of secretarial duties in support of the College Nursing Department.
1. Supports Nursing Faculty positions by performing various secretarial duties.
2. Responsible for committee work/minutes recording for assigned PN Program Committees.
3. Maintains materials from Learning Resource Lab, including checkout.
4. Assists in processing Admission Applications.
5. Receives calls, responds to questions and makes appropriate referrals.
6. Types tests, syllabuses, handouts and other correspondence.
7. Proctors and corrects tests with statistical analysis.
8. Coordinates with Nursing Pre-Admission Advisor to ensure timely duplication or ordering of class materials.
9. Assists co-workers as needed.
10. Maintains strict confidentiality.
11. Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Graduation from High School with a minimum of six (6) months of secretarial/clerical training, and one (1) year of responsible secretarial/clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
Working knowledge of filing systems, and telephone etiquette.
Knowledge of computer applications, skill in word processing and spreadsheets.
Typing speed 45 wpm and operation of various types of office equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; excellent grammar skills.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, students, and the public.
Ability to work independently and manage work assignments in a high interpersonal contact environment.
Ability to deal effectively with stress caused by work load and time deadlines.
Flexible schedule may include evenings and weekends.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
