Foundation Director and Grant Writer/Administrator

GENERAL PURPOSE
Functions as the Development and Executive Officer of the College's 501(c)(3) Foundation. Responsible for the identifying, developing, securing, implementing, and managing external funding sources for the College, ensuring a strong base of ongoing financial support from individual donors; foundations; corporations; and federal, state and local governments. Administers a comprehensive grant development program to include grant research, identification of appropriate applications, coordination among entities, proposal development and grant writing in pursuit of public and private funding sources on behalf of the College.
JOB FOCUS
1. In coordination with the Foundation Board of Directors, manage, develop and implement strategies for major gifting, planned giving, annual giving, private and public grants and donor recognition activities.
2. Serve as a member of the Foundation's executive team, providing leadership, vision and organization for all Foundation-related activities, including preparation of annual goals, timetables, budgets and annual reports.
3. Provide timely and accurate reporting of fundraising results.
4. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and constituent groups, both externally and internally, including with the Foundation Board of Directors, the College Board of Directors, donors, faculty and staff to maximize fundraising results.
5. Prepare for and attend meetings related to the Foundation Board, committees and the College Board of Directors.
6. Serve as the college's liaison to all grant funding agencies.
7. Develop a long term funding plan that aligns with the College's mission and strategic plan.
8. Evaluate College projects for which funding is desired; research and identify potential private, corporate and government grant opportunities; and develop timelines and strategies to obtain project funding.
9. Develop grant applications for new and existing programs.
10. Track and report grant expenditures and timelines.
11. Keep abreast of changing grant standards and proposal practices and guidelines, and assure institutional compliance with all grant conditions and certified assurances.
12. Assure the development and proper expenditure of Foundation and grant budgets.
13. Coordinate with the Marketing Department to promote Foundation and grant programs.
14. Serve as the Board and College representative in charter school oversight as authorized by the College Board of Directors.
15. Responsible for the oversight of institution contracts and monitoring these to assure compliance.
16. Perform related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with master's degree preferred in a related discipline.
Minimum of four years of proven experience working with private or public foundations and grant writing.
A minimum of two years management/supervisory experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess excellent research, writing, verbal, interpersonal, computer and organizational skills.
Travel and attendance at evening and weekend events required.
Knowledge of local and state community is desirable.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
